Seven confirmed events run from 21 August through 12 September 2026, opening with an Americana weekend in Stockholm and closing on a brand-new folk festival at Skansen, with a one-day metal debut in Gothenburg in between. ## Stockholm Roots Festival, Stockholm: 21 to 23 August

## Göteborg Brinner, Gothenburg: 22 August

At the other end of the spectrum, In Flames' new one-day festival [Göteborg Brinner](https://www.goteborgbrinner.se/info?ref=resources.getvolt.dk) takes over the Frihamnen harbour district with a metal bill headlined by In Flames themselves, alongside Avatar, Dark Tranquillity, Raised Fist and Napalm Death. ## Göteborgskalaset, Gothenburg: 27 to 30 August

Gothenburg's own free city festival, [Göteborgskalaset](https://goteborgskalaset.se/en/?ref=resources.getvolt.dk), spreads across Götaplatsen, Avenyn and the city centre for four days with no ticket required, confirmed on the organisers' own site. Expect a genre mix running pop to jazz to gospel, plus dance, food and family programming across several squares at once.

## Eksjö Stadsfest, Eksjö: 28 to 29 August

Inland in Småland, [Eksjö Stadsfest](https://eksjostadsfest.se/?ref=resources.getvolt.dk) turns the medieval town's square into seven stages for a weekend, run by the non-profit Fiesta Eksjö since 2008\.
