It started with a caravan
In 2012, three students from DTU rolled a converted caravan into Roskilde and Smukfest and started renting out powerbanks, on a simple hunch: nobody should be stuck with a dead phone at a festival. It worked. Caravans became containers, the map filled in across Europe, and today Volt has served over a million customers, keeping them charged and their stuff safe.
What Volt does

Charging
The Volt Charging Service with daily swaps, self-service stations, over-the-counter charging and hand-in charging. Quick swaps, not wall queues.
Storage
Event Lockers, refrigerated Cool Lockers, permanent indoor and outdoor lockers, and a digital cloakroom. Somewhere safe, all day.
Camp Gear
SOUNDBOKS battery rental and Battery Swap, SOUNDLOCK security and BoogieBeam camp lights. The campsite runs on Volt too.
Crew & activations
A volunteer programme that staffs the season, plus brand activations and white label setups for partners.

Our own booking, payment and fleet tech runs every unit on site, from locker codes to real-time charging analytics.

The idea
Three DTU students tested powerbank rental at Roskilde Festival and Smukfest from a converted caravan.
The beginning
Upgraded to converted sales containers and expanded internationally. 40,000+ customers served.
International expansion
Festivals in France, Germany, the Netherlands and Sweden. 75,000+ customers.
Digital development
Built an innovative digital wardrobe system for Roskilde Festival, used by 35,000+ guests.
Record year
New rectangular 5,000 mAh powerbank. Operations in Denmark, Sweden, England, Germany, Czech Republic, the Netherlands and France.
COVID-19
Helped staff COVID-19 test centres. The company went bankrupt, was acquired and restarted the same year under new ownership.
Rebuilding
Back at festivals in Denmark, Germany and England. New services: SOUNDBOKS battery charging and running Roskilde Festival's Rent Your Gear.
New products
Lockers introduced at Copenhell, Roskilde and Smukfest, plus sports events like Copenhagen Marathon and DHL Stafetten.
New markets
Lockers took off at Swedish festivals. Expanded to Sweden and Norway, extended lockers to sports events, and joined the Brick family.
Today
Over 120 festivals and events across six countries, with Event Services spanning charging, storage, cloakroom, SOUNDBOKS and Camp Gear.
