Festival volunteering

The 2026 volunteering index

Every festival we can find with a volunteer programme, each with a direct link to apply. Europe is live now, with more regions on the way.

Want to work a festival instead of just paying for a ticket? Volunteering gets you inside the gates, usually with a free wristband, meals and a crew community, in exchange for a few shifts. This is the most complete list of festivals across Europe that run volunteer programmes. We track 145 festivals with open applications across 18 countries, each with its own guide and a direct link to apply, and we keep adding.

Applications open and close at different times through the year, and some fill fast, so apply early and check each festival’s own page for this year’s dates and deadlines. Festivals are grouped by country, then by month.

Festival volunteering: common questions

Do festival volunteers get in free?

Most programmes give volunteers free entry (a wristband or ticket) in return for a set number of shifts, and many add meals, camping and a crew area. The exact deal is set by each festival, so check the linked page.

When do applications open?

It varies by festival and often opens months ahead, closing once spots fill. Apply early and follow the festival’s volunteer page for this year’s window.

What do volunteers actually do?

Shifts range from entry scanning, bars and info points to recycling, wardrobe, lockers and build/teardown. You usually pick or get assigned an area.

Is this every festival in Europe?

It is the most complete open list we know of, built from our European festival database and verified link by link. We keep adding festivals and updating links — tell us any we have missed.

Run or work a festival? Keeping thousands of phones charged and belongings safe is its own logistics job. See how Volt Charging and Event Lockers handle it on site.
