Smukfest

Smukfest is Denmark's biggest forest festival: eight days in the beech forest at Skanderborg, with around 60,000 daily visitors, including 18,000 volunteers. The 2026 edition runs 2-9 August, and check-in starts 31 July at the Sherwood entrance, KærligHeden and Birkevej 23, ahead of the main gates opening.

Camping and check-in

Your wristband covers free camping with your own tent for the whole week, plus free parking and shuttle buses. Most of the festival's thirteen camping areas open from 2 August, each with its own character, from the quiet corners to the loud ones next to a stage. Camping rules ban pavilions, gas bottles, open flames and large batteries or generators, so leave the disco lights and the Trangia at home.
