Copenhell lockers and charging: how the Volt bundle works

Copenhell is four days of heavy metal at Refshaleøen in Copenhagen, Denmark's largest metal festival. Gates open at noon. The last act finishes well past midnight. The crowd moves fast between stages all day, and you do it while keeping one eye on your phone.

Here's the practical part: Copenhell's own entry rules say only a small bag, no bigger than a standard backpack, is permitted inside the grounds. Larger bags have to go somewhere. How Event Lockers work at Copenhell

Book online before the festival. Volt sends your locker number and personal access code by email and SMS, usually shortly before your slot opens. On site, you enter the code at your locker and it's yours for the duration you booked.

A few details worth knowing:

• Open and re-lock as many times as you like during opening hours, using the same code each time. No need to empty it between visits.
• The locker is approximately 30x30x50 cm, enough for a jacket, a small bag, and festival essentials
• No power outlet inside the locker
• Lockers are placed under cover and monitored, with on-site Volt support available

How the Volt Charging Service works

Pick up your Volt-Charger from a Volt Container when you arrive and pay a refundable deposit on site. The Volt-Charger is pocket-sized. It goes with you between stages, into the crowd, to the bar, wherever you end up.

When it runs flat, bring it to any Volt booth and swap it for a fully charged one. One swap is included per day. At the end of the festival, return the Volt-Charger to get the deposit refunded to the same card within a couple of weeks.

The point is that you never need to stop and find an outlet. You swap and move on.

Why the bundle makes particular sense at Copenhell

Most multi-day camping festivals give you a home base: a tent, a campsite, somewhere to leave your things. Copenhell is a city festival. You arrive from wherever you're staying in Copenhagen, spend the day at Refshaleøen, and leave again.

That changes what you need from the site. Your phone is your map, your ticket, your payment card, and your way to find your group if you separate between stages. Running out of battery at 10pm at a city festival, without a tent to fall back on, is a different problem than at a camping event.

The bag rule compounds this. Larger bags have to stay out of the main festival area, which means the usual solution of carrying everything you might need all day does not work here. Across recent editions, items not permitted inside the main grounds have included camping chairs and stools, metal water bottles, glass containers, and own food and drinks (camping areas follow different rules). Compact cameras, phones, and GoPros have been fine. The main bag rule has been one small bag per person, which is exactly what the locker is for.
