Day locker or full-festival locker: how to choose before you book

Volt Event Lockers come in two main options: per day or for the full festival. If you are only there for one day, the single-day option is cheaper and covers exactly what you need. If you are camping all week, a full-festival locker means your things are there every morning when you wake up. Here is how to decide before you book.

The two options

A day locker is tied to a single day. You book it for each day you want it, get your access code that morning, and clear the locker before the festival closes for the night. It costs less per booking and works well when your time on site is short.

A full-festival locker runs for the entire event, from the day you arrive to the last evening. Same locker, same code, no rebooking needed. You can leave things inside overnight and pick up where you left off the next morning.

When the full-festival locker makes sense

If you are camping, the full-festival locker almost always works out to be the better choice.

You wake up in your tent and want your charger, your rain jacket, and your extra layers without going back to the car or hunting down a day-booking station. A full-festival locker is just there. Same number, same code, same spot.

Camping festivals like Roskilde Festival or Smukfest typically run five to eight days. Stack daily bookings across that many days and you will pay more than a full-festival pass costs. You will also spend time rebooking each morning when you would rather be at the festival.

The full-festival locker makes sense when:

• You are camping on site for two or more nights
• You are attending three or more days of programming
• You want to leave things in the locker overnight without clearing out each evening
• You do not want to think about it again after the first booking

When a day locker is enough

Day lockers are the right fit for day visitors. If you are driving in, catching a headliner, and heading home that night, a single-day booking is cheaper and gives you everything you need for the hours you are on site.

They also suit festival goers whose schedule covers only part of the programme. If you have tickets for two specific days rather than the full week, two day lockers will cost less than a full-festival pass.

A day locker works when:

• You are a day visitor with no overnight stay
• You attend one or two days only
• You have your car or a hotel nearby and only need storage during festival hours
• You want to keep the spend as low as possible

Three questions to answer before you book

If you are still unsure, work through these three questions.

1. How many nights are you sleeping on site?
Zero nights means a day locker. One or more nights means a full-festival locker is worth the upgrade from day one.

2. How many days will you actually be at the festival?
One or two days: day lockers. Three or more: full-festival.

3. Do you have secure storage nearby?
If your car is a short walk away or your accommodation has a room, you may be fine with a day locker even over multiple days. If the campsite is your only base, the full-festival option is the cleaner call.

How access works

Whether you book by day or for the full festival, the process is the same. Your locker number and personal code arrive by email and SMS before your first rental day begins. At the locker, enter your code on the keypad and the door opens. You can go in and out as many times as you like during festival operating hours at no extra cost.

One rule applies to both options: clear your locker before the last operating session of your rental ends. Anything left behind after the final close is not covered. Full-festival renters have until the last day of the event; day renters need to clear out before the same evening closes.

Frequently asked questions

Can I switch from a day locker to a full-festival locker after I arrive?

Availability on site depends on the event. If full-festival slots are still open when you arrive, you may be able to upgrade. It is always cheaper and simpler to book the right option before the festival starts.

Can I leave things in a full-festival locker overnight?

Yes. A full-festival locker stays assigned to you for the whole event. Your belongings are inside every night between festival days, and your code works again from the first operating hour each morning.

What size are the lockers?

The standard Event Locker is 30 cm wide, 30 cm deep and 50 cm tall. That fits a day pack, a rain jacket, a pair of trainers and a powerbank with room to spare.

When do I get my locker code?

Your locker number and code arrive by email and SMS before your first rental day begins. Check your spam folder if nothing arrives, and make sure the phone number on your booking is correct.

Do all festivals offer both day and full-festival options?

Not all events offer both. Some festivals sell full-festival passes only; shorter one-day events offer day lockers only. Check the locker booking page for your specific event to see what is available.

How long should I rent a festival locker?

Rent for as many days as you are on site. If you are camping the full week, a full-festival locker covers the whole stay in one booking. If you are a day visitor, a single day rental is enough.
