Where do you put your stuff at a one-day city festival?

You are in a city park at a one-day festival. You have the jacket you needed at 9 in the morning, a powerbank, and a tote bag you already regret. There is no tent to dump any of it in. The short answer: bring less than you think, and give the rest a locker for the day.

No campsite means no base

A camping festival gives you a base. Your tent holds the hoodie, the spare socks, the charger. A one-day city festival gives you nothing. Whatever you carry through the gate at noon is still on your shoulder at midnight.

GRØN is the clearest example. The 2026 tour plays eight Danish cities in eleven days, from Tårnby on 16 July to Valby on 26 July, one show per city, no camping anywhere. ↗ groenkoncert.dk. You arrive by metro or bike, stand in a park for twelve hours, and go home the same night. Every gram you pack, you carry. Unless you plan for it.

What to bring in the first place

Less. A one-day festival needs a pocket, not a rucksack:

  • Phone and a payment card
  • A charged powerbank
  • Sunscreen for the afternoon, one warm layer for the evening
  • Earplugs
  • An empty water bottle, if the gate allows it

Check the gate rules before you pack. Our guide to Danish festival bag rules in 2026 covers what security waves through and what gets binned.

That list fits in a small bag. Everything beyond it is weight you will feel by hour six.

Event Lockers: a base without a tent

Volt runs Event Lockers at city events. You book online, and shortly before your slot a locker number and a personal access code land by email and SMS. You open and re-lock the locker as often as you like during opening hours, at no extra cost.

Each locker is roughly 30x30x50 cm, sits under cover, and is monitored daily with Volt support on site. That is room for a jacket, the tote, and anything you would rather not hold in a crowd. One thing to know: there is no power outlet inside, so charge the powerbank before you drop it off.

The point is what you stop doing. No bag between your feet during the headliner. No jacket tied around your waist since noon. You walk in light and pick your stuff up on the way out.

GRØN is running right now

GRØN 2026 is mid-tour as you read this, and the whole run sold out months ahead, with 203,500 people expected across the eight cities, per the official site ↗. Volt Event Lockers are on site on the tour.

Four shows remain: Esbjerg on 23 July, Odense on 24 July, Næstved on 25 July, and Valby on 26 July. A day locker inside the music area costs 75 DKK, and you can still book online at getvolt.dk ↗ even though the tickets themselves are gone.

A second reason to book one at GRØN: 25 DKK from every locker booking is donated to Muskelsvindfonden, the patient organisation that arranges GRØN together with Tuborg. The donation is stated right on the booking page. Your bag gets a home, and the money goes where the festival's profits go anyway.

Cloakroom: the coat-drop alternative

Some city events run a Cloakroom instead of lockers, or next to them. It is Volt's digital coat and bag drop: no paper tickets to lose, you hand things in and claim them from your phone with a code.

Where an event offers both, a simple split works. Cloakroom for the coat you only need at the ends of the day. Event Lockers for anything you want to reach mid-festival, like that powerbank swap at 6 pm.

Frequently asked questions

Do one-day city festivals have lockers?

Many do. At GRØN 2026, Volt Event Lockers are on site on the tour, bookable online for 75 DKK a day at the remaining shows. For other events, check the festival's practical info page or the Event Lockers service page.

How do Volt Event Lockers work?

Book online before the event. Your locker number and personal access code arrive by email and SMS shortly before your slot. Open and re-lock the locker as often as you like during opening hours. Lockers measure about 30x30x50 cm and are monitored daily.

Can I charge my phone inside the locker?

No. Event Lockers have no power outlet inside. Charge your powerbank before the festival and keep it with you, or drop it in the locker fully charged and swap it in when your phone runs low.

Is GRØN 2026 sold out?

Yes. The official site ↗ confirms the whole 2026 tour sold out, earlier than any previous year. Lockers are a separate booking and were still available online for the last four cities at the time of writing.

Pack light, book the locker, and spend the day in front of the stage instead of behind a bag.
