Yes, you can pre-book a secure locker for WRRC Copenhagen 2026. Volt runs Event Lockers at the championships, so you can stash a bag, extra clothing and your valuables, then run, cheer and celebrate with your hands free.

Here is what the lockers are, what fits inside, where to book one and the answers to the questions we get asked most.

WRRC Copenhagen 2026 in 30 seconds

WRRC Copenhagen 26 is the World Athletics Road Running Championships, run in the streets of Copenhagen on 19 and 20 September 2026. The One Mile and the 5K races take place on Saturday 19 September, and the Half Marathon follows on Sunday 20 September, with around 65,000 runners taking part alongside the fastest athletes in the world.

That makes for two very full days in the city: race kit, changes of clothing, phones, keys and wallets everywhere. Exactly the kind of weekend lockers were made for, whether you are racing or standing at the barriers with everyone's jackets.

What Event Lockers are

Event Lockers are secure lockers with a personal access code, run on site by Volt. They are the same lockers festival goers use across the more than 120 festivals and events Volt operates at, and at the championships they are the storage service Volt runs on site.

No key to lose, no paper ticket, no queueing to hand anything over a counter. You book online, you get a code, and that code opens your locker. Only you can open it, and the locker area is monitored regularly.

Sizes: what actually fits

Think valuables, a bag, extra clothing and personal items that fit. In practice that covers the race-day essentials: a warm layer for the start line, dry clothes for after the finish, your phone, keys, wallet and a small backpack. September in Copenhagen can serve up sun and rain in the same afternoon, so having somewhere dry for your spare layer is worth a lot.

Lockers are booked per day, with Saturday and Sunday available separately to match the two race days. Check the booking page for what is currently available for your day before you lock it in.

Where to book

The fastest route is the dedicated locker booking page for the event: volt.getlocker.dk/wrrc-copenhagen-2026. Pick your day, pay, and your locker is sorted before you have even picked up your race number. You can also grab a locker through the WRRC Copenhagen 2026 presale on the Volt shop.

Availability is limited, and race weekends have a habit of selling things out. If you already know you are going, book early.

How it works, step by step

  1. Book online. Choose your day, Saturday or Sunday, and complete the booking.
  2. Get your code. Your locker number and personal access code are shown right after purchase and sent to you by email and SMS.
  3. Come and go. Open your locker any time during opening hours, as many times as you like during your rental period, at no extra cost.

That last point matters more at a running championship than almost anywhere else. Drop your warm-up layer before the start, grab your phone for the finish-line photo, put it back while you find your people, and collect everything on your way home.

Locker FAQ

What if I forget or lose my code?

Your code is shown right after purchase and sent by email and SMS, so check your inbox first, and then your spam folder. If you still cannot find it, Volt staff on site can assist.

Can I open my locker more than once?

Yes. You have unlimited access during your rental period, within the event opening hours, at no extra cost. Visit it once or twenty times, the price is the same.

Is my locker secure?

Each locker has its own personal access code, and the locker area is monitored regularly. Nobody else gets your code unless you share it, so treat it like a PIN.

What do I do when I am done?

Leave the locker empty, closed and locked at the end of your rental period. Anything left behind may go to the event's Lost & Found, and Volt is not responsible for items left in lockers.

Do I get a refund if I do not use my locker?

No. Booked rental periods are not refunded if unused, so have your race schedule in hand when you pick your day.

Before race weekend

Everything Volt runs at the championships is collected on the WRRC Copenhagen hub page, so bookmark it if you want the full picture of the on-site setup. For start times, course maps and race-day logistics, keep an eye on the official event page, since the organisers confirm and update those details as the weekend gets closer.

Then all that is left is the good part: book your locker, lace up or line the course, and leave the bag-juggling to us.
