Landstreff Fredriksten is organised by LTF AS and has been running at Fredriksten Festning for years. In 2026 the date moved to 22–24 May, after Norway's Education Ministry asked organisers to shift the celebrations to after the exam period, per NRK's reporting. The venue

Fredriksten Festning sits high above Halden in southeastern Norway, roughly 100 km south of Oslo. Construction began in 1661 after Swedish attacks on the town, and it served as Norway's most important fortification for over 350 years. Today the fortress hosts concerts, events and hiking year-round.

The event spreads across several zones inside the fortress grounds: Kommandanthagen holds the main stage, with Skansen, Place d'Armes and Kilden rounding out the site. Halden is well connected by rail from Oslo (around 1.5 hours on the Østfoldbanen), making it straightforward to reach by train.

Landstreff is built around russ vehicles. Decorated buses, vans and cars are central to the experience, and registration in advance is required. Per the official info page:

• Bus parking: 5,000 kr + VAT for the full weekend
• Van and car parking: 3,000 kr + VAT for the full weekend
• All vehicles must be EU-approved; learner plates are not accepted
• Once parked, vehicles cannot be moved for the duration of the event

Camping

Tent camping is available inside the event area, per the official info page. Plots are 4×4 metres, with a maximum of six people per plot. The camping area is guarded around the clock. Checkout deadline is Sunday at 14:00.
