One thing this isn't: a dedicated luggage-storage product. Volt doesn't run a separate "luggage lockers" line the way some locker suppliers do. Four ways to open one

• QR code lockers: booked in advance or on the spot, locker details sent by SMS and email, no queue, fully cashless. The site also gets live rental statistics.
• PIN code lockers: a PIN card issued ahead of time for a fast entry flow, useful when a lot of people need to get in during a short window.
• Key lockers: the cheapest option and the most staff-heavy one. A deposit is taken against a physical key and returned when it's handed back, then re-rented to whoever's next.
• Open mode lockers: you set your own PIN, one locker serves several people across a day, and staffing is minimal to none. Usually free to use, which is why it's the common pattern at corporate and private events.

QR and PIN access both trade a little security for speed and low staffing, which is the same tradeoff the wider locker industry makes: QR codes are fast to issue and revoke, while methods like RFID or multi-factor access add a security layer at the cost of extra hardware or steps. Volt runs the mode a site actually needs rather than defaulting to one for every deployment.

Built to run without a venue network

A permanent outdoor install doesn't get the luxury of a building's own power and internet.
