SOUNDBOKS, Bikes, E-Scooters: Not a Locker Job

A Volt Event Locker holds a change of clothes, your phone, a powerbank, the odds and ends you would otherwise carry around all day. It does not hold a 20 kilo speaker, a bike, or an e-scooter. Those need a different plan: a dedicated service, a parking spot, or in a few cases, they should just stay at home.

The short version

Your SOUNDBOKS needs a lock, not a locker

SOUNDLOCK is a metal wire, a ground spike and a padlock, and the padlock is included in the price. You pre-book it, pick it up at the staffed Volt booth in camp, pay a refundable deposit, and return it at the end for the deposit back. It fits every SOUNDBOKS model, it is for camping areas only, and Volt has confirmed it works as a standalone rental: you do not need a Battery Swap package to add it on. 2026 pricing runs 399 kr, down from 499 kr, with a 450 kr deposit refunded once you return it in good condition at the same festival.

Keeping the speaker charged is a separate job. SOUNDBOKS Battery Swap covers that: packages of 4 or 7 swaps at a Volt Recharge Zone (649 DKK for Roskilde 2026), Gen4 batteries only, unused swaps non-refundable. Bikes and e-scooters: parking, not packing

Bike parking at a festival works like bike parking anywhere: a marked area near the entrances, not a locker. Roskilde Festival runs it free of charge, with bike racks at all three main entrances (West by Gate 25, North at the corner of Maglegårdsvej and Darupvej by Gate 1, and East across from Gate 35), plus dedicated bike parking by Volunteers' Village and Volunteer Camping, according to Roskilde Festival's own bike parking page. Smukfest runs its own version: Cykelparkering is at Sølund, directly opposite the Sølund entrance to the festival grounds, per Smukfest's practical information page.

Riding the bike once you are past the gate is a different question from parking it. Roskilde's own rules allow free cycling across the camping areas, but a bike needs prior permission to go onto the inner festival grounds while it is open to the audience, per the same source above.

E-scooters and e-bikes are the harder case, because neither festival above publishes a rule written specifically for them. The closest confirmed policy is the bike one: personal vehicles need permission once you are past the gate, and it is a fair bet that the same logic extends to anything else with wheels and a motor. That is a bet, not a confirmed rule, so check the specific festival's own site before you travel with one. One small overlap worth knowing: SOUNDLOCK's wire and ground spike are not fussy about what they secure. Loop it through a bike frame in camp instead of a SOUNDBOKS and it does the same job, though you still collect and return it at the SOUNDBOKS booth, not a bike rack.

What most festivals ban outright

Some items are not a storage problem because no service will take them, they are simply not allowed on site. Roskilde Festival's own prohibited items list bans generators, pyrotechnics, drones without prior permission from festival safety, and fuel besides one-litre Trangia bottles in the camping areas, and adds glass bottles and bicycles without permission once you are on the inner festival grounds, according to Roskilde Festival's own prohibited items page. Smukfest's list, per the same practical information page linked above, rules out weapons, drones, glass bottles, fireworks, banners and banner poles, professional recording equipment, and drinks not bought on the festival grounds.

The overlap between the two is the useful part: glass, fire and fireworks, generators and drones without sign-off show up on both lists.
