Getting to Spejdernes Lejr 2026

The camp sits at Hedeland Naturpark near Hedehusene, between Roskilde and Høje Taastrup and about 30 km west of Copenhagen. Most scouts and volunteers arrive on shared buses booked through their group, and everyone else can reach it by train and a short city bus, by car, by bike or on foot.

Spejdernes Lejr 2026 (Jamboree Denmark) runs 18 to 26 July, so it pays to know your route before the day you travel.

The quick answer by who you are

• Scouts and volunteers: shared transport, mostly by bus, is included in the participation fee for everyone aged 6 and up. Your group picks an entry point and gets an itinerary before camp.
• Guests and family: entry to the campsite is free. Take the train to Roskilde or Høje Taastrup and hop on a city bus, or drive and use the guest parking.

Getting there by public transport

During the camp, city buses run to the site from two train stations:

• From Roskilde station: buses run to the camp around four times an hour.
• From Høje Taastrup station: buses run to the camp around once an hour.

The bus stop is on Tranemosevej near Reerslev Church. You pay with a standard ticket or rejsekort, the same as any Danish city bus. Roskilde is the faster and more frequent connection, so if you have a choice, route through Roskilde.

Arrival day, 18 July, needs extra planning

The first day is the tricky one. Track work on Funen and West Zealand on 18 July means many buses are pulled onto rail replacement duty, so normal timetables shift.

Groups and volunteers in and around Greater Copenhagen should take the S-train or a regional train to one of these stations, then continue by bus to camp:

• Køge Nord
• Ballerup
• Taastrup
• Høje Taastrup

At Køge Nord, buses leave from both the north and south parking areas, and Vikingbus staff are on site to point groups the right way. Check your group itinerary for the exact pickup, since entry points are chosen ahead of camp and routes are sent out before you travel.

Driving and parking

If you drive, the parking is split by what you bring:

• Participants and volunteers: parking is at Thorsbrovej 17T, 2640 Hedehusene.
• Buses, trucks, containers and trailers: long-term parking is at Stærkendevej 135S, 2640 Hedehusene. Parking a trailer in the long-term area is free.
• Guests: the camp sets up guest parking for a small fee.

Danish groups get parking permits based on numbers, with one free permit per 50 participants. Extra parking is a flat fee for the whole jamboree. Because the site is large, plan a walk from the car to your subcamp and pack light for that first trip in.

Bike or on foot

The camp is reachable by bike and on foot, which is a good shout for anyone staying nearby in Hedehusene, Reerslev or the edge of Roskilde. It skips the bus timetable entirely, and the area around Hedeland is flat and easy to ride.

Get your bearings once you arrive

The camp is split into four subcamps: Havet (sea), Skoven (forest), Byen (city) and Landet (countryside). It is a big site, so:

• Download the camp map before you lose signal.
• Agree a meeting point with your group in case phones die.
• Keep your phone charged for maps and contacts, since a flat battery on arrival day is the last thing you want.
