SommarRock Svedala

SommarRock Svedala 2026 runs Thursday 9 to Saturday 11 July at Friluftsbadet in central Svedala, and the whole edition is sold out for the fifth year in a row. So this page is not about tickets. It is about making the weekend easy once you are in: the bag rules, where to lock your stuff, how to keep your phone alive and how to get home. Volt is on site with Event Lockers and powerbank charging, and the festival's own bag storage page points straight to us.

A volunteer-built festival since 1987

SommarRock Svedala started in 1987 with local artists playing on a truck bed. The non-profit music association S.M.U.R.F. still runs it today, and it has grown into one of Sweden's largest non-profit driven festivals. The idea has not moved an inch since the truck bed: a festival for everyone, whatever your age or your taste in music.

The 2026 bill shows exactly that range. The Ark, Molly Sandén, Medina, Erik Grönwall, The Poodles, Sean Banan and Bolaget are all on the official site's lineup, with set times published there too.

Bag rules and Event Lockers

There is no bag ban at SommarRock Svedala, but everyone and every bag is searched at the entrance, and the festival asks you to pack light so the queue keeps moving. The security rules also stop a lot of everyday items at the gate: your own food and drink, aerosols like deodorant and dry shampoo, umbrellas, selfie sticks and camping chairs all stay home.

The easiest move is to not carry a bag around at all. Volt runs Event Lockers at SommarRock Svedala, and the festival lists them as its bag storage on its own pages. Book online, get your locker number and personal access code by email and SMS before your slot, then open and re-lock it as often as you like during the day. Jacket in, hands free, sorted.

Booking runs through the official SommarRock Svedala collection at getvolt.dk. Festival week moves fast, so check what is still open there.

Charging: keep your phone alive all weekend

SommarRock is a cashless festival, card or Swish only, per the official FAQ. That makes a dead phone more than a missed photo of The Ark. It is your wallet, your way to find your crew and your ride home.

That is what the Volt Charging Service is for. Rent a Volt-Charger, pay a refundable deposit, and when it runs flat swap it for a fresh one once a day at the Volt booth. Your phone charges in your pocket while you stand front row instead of next to a wall socket. Hand the Volt-Charger back at the end and the deposit comes back to you. The festival's bag storage page lists the powerbanks right alongside the lockers, so one stop covers both.

Getting there and getting home

The festival sits in central Svedala, with the entrance at the Friluftsbadet car park on Bökebergsgatan. The festival's travel page recommends walking, cycling or public transport: there is cycle parking next to the entrance, and car parking in town is limited.

Coming from further out, Skånetrafiken runs extra trains toward Malmö and Ystad and extra buses toward Trelleborg and Staffanstorp via Klågerup during the festival days. Check current departure times before you travel, especially for the trip home after the last encore.

There is no festival camping. If you come by motorhome, the festival points to a free first come area in central Svedala; tents and regular cars are not allowed on it. The same page lists hotel options around Malmö if you would rather have a real bed.

Good to know at the gate

Your wristband is your ticket, and you can leave the area and come back in as long as it stays on your wrist, per the FAQ. Kids up to 12 must stay with an adult, and the festival recommends ear protection for them. Smoking is only allowed in the marked smoking areas. If you have medical needs around food or medication, contact the organiser ahead of the festival and they will sort it with you.

Sort it before you walk in

SommarRock Svedala is compact, friendly and built by volunteers, and it rewards every festival goer who shows up light. Book your locker and charging on the SommarRock Svedala collection, read how Event Lockers and the Volt Charging Service work in detail, and spend the weekend watching bands instead of babysitting a bag.
