Which batteries are compatible

The swap service accepts SOUNDBOKS Gen4 batteries only. The Gen4 cell fits the SOUNDBOKS 2, 3, 4, Go, and Mix, so compatibility depends on the battery, not the speaker model.

Gen1 and Gen2 batteries cannot go through the swap service. If that is what you have, Volt offers hand-in charging instead: leave the battery at the Volt point, it charges there, and you come back to collect it. Build in extra time if you go that route, as turnaround depends on volume at the recharge point.

How the swap works, step by step

1. Book a package online before the festival. Packages come in 4 swaps or 7 swaps. You can use your own Gen4 battery, rent one from Volt (200 DKK plus a 1,400 DKK refundable deposit), or buy one on-site.
2. If renting: Volt returns the 1,400 DKK deposit to the same account you used to book, within 14 business days after you return the battery at the festival.
3. At the festival: go to any Volt Recharge Zone when your battery is flat. Swaps are available during festival opening hours. On-site support runs throughout those hours. For off-hours questions, email support@getvolt.dk.
4. Hand in flat, take full. If you brought your own Gen4 battery, the first swap is counted when you hand it in for exchange.
5. Watch the package count. Unused swaps are non-refundable. Visibly damaged batteries may be refused.

Choosing a package

The 4-swap package suits a short festival stay of three to four days, with one swap per day and a spare. The 7-swap package is built for a full week: one swap per day with room for longer nights or louder afternoons.

If two tents share a speaker and run it through most of the day, lean toward 7 swaps. If the speaker plays background music a few hours a day, 4 swaps is usually enough.

The Soundlock: securing your speaker at camp
