Wonderfestiwall 2026: Four Days on Bornholm, August 13-16

Wonderfestiwall opens on Bornholm in two days, Thursday August 13, and runs through Sunday August 16, 2026. Getting there means a flight or a ferry, since the island has no bridge, and that's part of what makes it feel like a proper trip rather than just another festival weekend. Here's what to expect from the lineup, how to get to Bornholm from the mainland, and what to pack for four days somewhere you can't just nip home if you forgot something.

What it's actually like

Wonderfestiwall sits on a heath at Slotslyngen, in the same spot it's used for years, close enough to the coast that a lot of people build a full island trip around the four days rather than just the festival itself: a night or two either side, a bike ride out to the Hammershus ruins, a swim. The cap on numbers keeps it feeling like a small-island event even at full capacity, not a mainland festival that happened to relocate.

The lineup

The bill runs three days, Thursday to Saturday, split across the Ankermyr and Opalen stages. The two names international audiences are most likely to recognize are The Cardigans (Friday) and Melanie C (Saturday); the rest of the bill leans Danish pop and rock, including TV-2, Burhan G, Dizzy Mizz Lizzy, Infernal, Gobs and Benjamin Hav & Familien. Thursday's acts include Jonah Blacksmith, Kesi, Zar Paulo, Lord Siva, Sofie1998, Søn, Berg, Elsked and Sira Jovina. Saturday also brings Saveus, Dodo & The Dodos, Ida Laurberg, Katinka, ROSA and JOSVA. Where and when

Wonderfestiwall runs Thursday to Sunday, August 13-16 2026, on the Slotslyngen grounds near Allinge on Bornholm's north coast, opening at 10:00 each day (official info page). A 2026 local zoning plan caps the event at 12,500 participants, audience, artists and crew combined, so it stays a small-island festival by design (Bornholm.nu).

Getting to Bornholm: flight or ferry

There's no bridge, so you're arriving by air or by sea. DAT flies Copenhagen to Bornholm Airport (Rønne) in about 35 minutes. By ferry, Bornholmslinjen runs Rønne-Ystad in Sweden in around 80 minutes, the fastest crossing, or Rønne-Køge in Denmark in about 5 hours 30 minutes if you'd rather sail the whole way and bring a car (Visit Bornholm's own travel page). Foot passengers and cars are both accepted on every route. From Rønne, it's still a drive or a bus up to Allinge on the north coast, so build in the extra hour.

On the island itself, Wonderfestiwall runs its own shuttle bus between the festival, Camping+, Allinge and the free parking at Hammerhavn, plus night buses covering the main towns, and the island's regular BAT buses connect everywhere else (official info page).

Tickets

Weekend passes for 2026 are sold out; the festival's own site currently lists only single-day tickets as available, so check there first if you haven't booked yet (wonderfestiwall.dk). Children under 10 get in free.

Camping

Camping runs from opening on August 12 until 10:00 on Sunday August 16, split across two areas at Nordre Borrelyngvej 36: Campingpladsen, where you bring your own tent on plots from 8m² up to 18m² depending on group size, and Camping+, with pre-pitched tents, tipis and Wonder Cabins for anyone who'd rather not carry gear (official info page). Motorhomes and pavilions aren't allowed on site, and there's no power at the campsite or the festival grounds at all, so bring what you need charged or plan around it.

What to pack

Bring valid photo ID for everyone in your group, adults and children both; it gets checked at the entrance and the festival warns that guessing someone's age at the gate is common, so don't leave it at home (official info page). A charged powerbank matters more here than at most festivals, since there's no power anywhere on site outside the free charging window covered below. Bring a card for topping up the cashless Kontantkort rather than cash. A SOUNDBOKS is fine to bring, but leave the caravan, pavilion, generator, oversized parasol and fridge at home, all of which are banned from the camping area, along with any open flame, bonfires, candles and mosquito coils included (official info page).

Cashless payment and charging on site

Wonderfestiwall runs on a cashless Kontantkort you top up as you go, in amounts up to 2,000 kr at a time; there's no card required beyond that, but MobilePay isn't accepted for top-ups because of poor internet connectivity on site. Settle or spend your balance by Saturday midnight, or claim a refund within 14 days after the festival. The card isn't personal and has no PIN, so photograph the serial number on the back before you lose it, it's the only way the festival can block a missing card (official info page).

Since there's no power on site, free phone and powerbank charging is available Thursday to Saturday, 10:00-18:00, through a local partnership with Bornholms Energi og Forsyning (official info page). Volt doesn't run a service at Wonderfestiwall this year, so that free window and a full powerbank of your own are what you've got for the rest of the weekend. Volt does run charging and Event Lockers at other Danish festivals, including Smukfest, if that's more your kind of setup.
